Richard "the lion heart" is one of the most celebrated king of England. He led "the 3rd Crusade" (1187 - 1192) along emperor Frederick Barbarossa of Germany & king Phillip Augustus of France. However, it didn't take long for him & king Phillip to quarrel in the Holy Land since France & England were bitter rivals back in those times. King Phillip then feigned illness & returned to France in order to regain Normandy from Richard's control. As for emperor Frederick Barbarosa, he unfortunately drowned in Asia minor whilst few of his men reached the Holy Land. Richard then was left as the sole leader of the 3rd Crusade which then gave legend to the Lion-hearted's exploits.
