I was lucky enough to arrive on a very quiet day and nobody else was there, so the local archaeologist who had nothing to do took me on a personal guided tour and explained the history and excavation of these temples. Apparently they were excavated a long time ago, and early in the 1900's they had the idea of trying to re-build the ruins and cover them in concrete, which actually did more ... (more)
