I went 3 time in Croatia. the first one for 1 weeks in the April 1985, and we visited only the Plitvice N.P. in the summer 1985 and 1986 we went on the Croatian coast. at that time Croatia was one of the Regions of the formerly Jugoslavja. we visited the Islands of Krk, Pag, Cherso, Losinj, the wonderful cities of Dubrovnik (with an incredible nightlife!!!), Split and Fiume. we went also a couple of days in the very beautiful Sarajevo (before the war Sarajevo was one of the most beautiful city of all Eastern Europe; a great melting pot of cultures and races), and on the came back we stopped some days in the northern Region of the old Jugoslavja: Slovenja; and we visited the capital Ljubjana, the Postumia Caves and Graniska Gora on the Alps. During the Indipendence War between Serbja and Croatia, the Serbian Troops bombed the Plitvice N.P. (without a strategic reason, no cities, no villages, nothing...only the lakes and the forest!) and the Park was very seriously damaged.
