Semuc Champey is located in Alta Verapaz, at aproximately 3 1/2 hours from Guatemala City. Is a place worth visiting.

Take the road to Alta Verapaz and from there got o San Pedro Carchá. Ask there for the road to Semuc and you will be on your way.

Semuc Champey means "River under the rocks". The river is big, noisy and loud but there is a place where the river just disapears under the rocks and you will be able of enjoying peaceful natural pools.
