The ruins of Nimrud, lie south of Mosul, in Northern Iraq on the East side of the Tigris River. I was very fortunate to be able to visit them during my time there. From the site Feepedia here is some info: Nimrud has been identified as the site of the biblical city of Calah or Kalakh [kä'läkh].
