Each of us rode in a little cart in front of the bicyclist, up and down the streets and alleys of Hanoi's Old Quarter. We moving along in a vehicle the Vietnamese call a cyclo-rickshaw.

It was a great way to see the people of Hanoi going about their daily living as we were leisurely pedalled so close to them for a fascinating two hours.

Maybe 'leisurely' isn't the right word. I wish I could show you the narrowest of escapes we seemed to have at almost every intersection, as the cross traffic of other bicycles and rickshaws and motorcycles and cars and many, many of the Vietnamese people challenged us at every turn.

All I can do is show you what we saw in this ancient city that has been the capital of Vietnam for almost a thousand years.
