I arrived in Ljubljana via the train from Zagreb which circuited through some beautiful valleys and was a nice introduction to one of the prettiest countries in Europe.

Ljubljana was splendid. I spent an intoxicated St Patrick's Day there searching in vain for the Irish pub and only finding the bar in the hostel (which was converted from an old gaol - it wins second prize for the oddest place I've ever stayed in, after a rock cave in Cappadocia). ... (more)
