The 4 Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is amazing. Although its a tough walk, especially when pouring rain, the views and ruins along the way are amazing and arriving at Machu Picchu on the morning of Day 4 is a great experience.

Macchu Pichu is VERY high in altitude!(11,000 ft?) It is the most terrific, amazing place! I esp. appreciated these photos, as my camera broke, on the train going there from Cuzco. The place was "lost" for many years, then rediscovered by Sen. Hiram Bingham (a U.S. Senator) in 1912, I think. They have found women's and children's bones there, so believe the Incas kept their women and children there for safety from Spanish Conquistadors...I would be glad to know more!!

LOVE - Machu Picchu
Bravo!! Your pictures of the Machu Picchu are among the best I have seen yet. I have been to many countries but Peru is one of my favorites. I had the privilege of seeing this gorgeous Inca site in 1994 and I will never forget it. Unfortunately, I didn't have those beautiful clouds that you were blessed with. (I will add my photos in the near future but I still have many to scan). I will examine closely all of your other pictures.
