After our visit to the Rainbow Fall of Sg. Lembing on 19/3/2006, we (Beng Eng, Seiw Khoon, Siew Peng, Otto and me) drove about 120 km to Tasik Cini, the second largest lake in Peninsular Malaysia (after Tasik Bera, a Ramsar site).

The resort beside the lake was quite a disappointment to us in terms of its facilities and the service of its staff. But the lake was much more charming than I expected. I visited the lake with my family many years ago.

In the morning on 20/3, we had a cruise round the lake in a motorised sampan. The cruise lasted for more than 4 hours. The views of clusters of pandanus with distant mountains as backdrop reflected in the mirror calm water were simply spectacular. We came across eagles, kingfishers, swallows, monitor lizards, and a school of juvenile snakefish!

We did come across some waterlily and lotus flowers. The best time to see those flowers would be August - September, when vast areas of the lake would be covered by flowers.
