An iceberg that's broken off from the glacier dramatizes the difference in colors. So why is there so much blue? This ice has been deep within this glacier for hundreds of thousands of years. It's very compressed, with all the air taken out of it, and only the blue color waves escape to our eye. (It's much easier to enjoy the view than understand what I just said!)
