front view. This Methodist school, one of two important historic school in the city (the other is St Michael's Institution), was founded in 1895 by an American Methodist missionary. It was the first English-medium school in the Kinta valley. The school is locally called by its acronym ACS (Malaysians are fond of acronyms) and is located on Lahat Road adjacent to Wesley Methodist Church, The current Edwardian-style building, with its attractive quoining, was erected in 1912. Subsequent additions since 1938 were in the same style.
