Moen Jo Daro 5000 years old city

Moen Jo Daro or Mohan Jo Daro is one of the oldest and most mysterious archeological site in the Southeastern provice, Sindh of Pakistan. It is quite a site to see that such an advanced urban civilization existed about 5000 years ago.

The Indus civilization florished here in 3000-2500BC, a time when we can only think of humans living in caves or scattered settlements elsewhere but here in Pakistan (India) the people started to live in cities. Visiting moen Jo daro is quite an experience you can see the past come before you yet it is a site for which we can say nothing. We can see thier religious objects but cant say what they worshiped. We can see their writings but cant read and even guess what they say. We can see their faces yet can be sure what language they spoke.

The place is so quite and peaceful that one just feels like being there forever.

I am Indian and I lived in India until 1982. I have read the history of Mohen Jo Daro and Harappa while in high school in India and I always wanted to visit the excavations but never had a chance. Your pictures rekindled my desire to visit the ruins of these cities. Is it easy to go there? Is it safe? What would be the base cities from where Mohen Jo Daro and Harappa can be visited?
