While in south Florida in April 2006, I spent a day in Miami Beach. The city is famous for its beaches, but I'm not really a beach person. So I spent part of my visit exploring the Art Deco Historic District. Much of Miami Beach was developed when Art Deco's Streamline Moderne phase was at its peak. With more than 800 Art Deco buildings, the Art Deco Historic District has the largest such collection in the world.
