Westminster Abbey was built under King Edgar in the 10th century on the site of several earlier churches. Successive monarchs added to & beautified the building whereby King Henry III was the biggest contributor to its present-day splendor. *Although King Edgar & King Henry are not known around the world, they're nevertheless important figures in England's history since both kings guided England during their respective reign back in the olden times, when England wasn't a great nation yet. And eventually, England became SO GREAT that it produced some of the world's greatest contributors overtime yet I'll only highlight individuals in the realm of science (later on in this article) since that's what I'm more familiar with.
