In 1831 (the year Maxwell was born), Michael Faraday was already conducting experiments which constituted the discovery of electromagnetic induction leading to the generation of electricity. But Maxwell took it to another level some 20 years later much like how Micahel Jordan took Dr. J's style of basketball to a whole new level. *Michael Faraday loved demonstrating infront of a big audience (such as seen in this pic) especially infront of the Royal Society of London. He became famous for his lectures & was such a great showman that he really impressed & awed his audience unlike Newton who was so boring that at times, he never had an audience! Faraday's other works include: the liquefication of several gases, the dicovery of 2 new chlorides of carbon, he effected the revolution of a magnetic needle around an electric current, discovered the effects of one electric current to another, & etc.
