Perhaps, one of the most important scientists of all time, Sir Alexander Fleming however wasn't buried in Westminster Abbey since it got so full of "great" Brit individuals (inspite of its big size), that it ceased to be the burial place starting the early 19th. Anyway, Sir Alexander Fleming discovered the antibiotic Penicillin in 1922. Dubbed as "the magic bullet" against bacterias & microbes, it kills the deadly organisms that invades us humans but doesn't harm us at all. Penicillin then has saved millions of lives even up to this very day. Indeed, it's truly a "magic bullet!" *Sir Fleming was knighted in 1944 & won the Nobel Prize in 1945. He was buried at St. Paul's Cathedral which is another prominent site of London perhaps 2nd only to Westminster Abbey though he should have really been buried in the prestigious Abbey.
