Indeed, the chance of Voyager reaching E.T.'s is really remote but as Dr. Sagan said: "No one sends such a message on such a journey without positive passion for the future.For all the possible vagaries of the message, any recipient could be sure that we were a species endowed with hope & perseverance, at least a little intelligence, substantial generosity, & a palpable zest to make contact with the cosmos."

*The Voyagers endeavor wasn't really a waste of time & money since its primary mission was to explore the outer planets. In fact it, was an enormous success since it sent us back tons of valuable pictures of those planets [& their moons] thereby advancing our knowledge of those fronteirs - our possible colonies & sources of our resources in the future.
