As the San Juan river has meandered thru the soft rock of the Colorado Plateau, it creates interesting geographical features as at this "gooseneck." The two small dots in the left side of the river below are rafters. A popular rafting trip is to put in at Bluff, UT and raft all the way down to Lake Powell. A shorter trip is to Mexican Hat, UT.
