This is the interior of the central kiva at Aztec National Monument which was almost entirely reconstructed by early archaeologists. It may more reflect the archaelogist's concept of a kiva than the original kiva itself. The roof would surely not be as tall as the reconstruction. This kiva is far larger than any other that we saw.
