To get to the falls from Point-à-Pitre (the capital of Guadaloupe) you must take a taxi. The ride is about 45 minutes and you might want to learn a bit of French before attempting to strike a deal with one of the cabbies. The ride takes you through miles of banana farms, and then the reainforest. At the top, you must hike about 20 minutes through the forest to reach the falls. Make sure to bring water and a bathing suit, because you are able to swim under the falls. This is a great place to go for a swim. It is beautiful, and surrounded by lush, tropical rainforest. I recommend this hike to anyone going to Guadaloupe.
