Ancient Kasbah, Rose Valley Circuit Africa picture - Morocco is full of crumbling kasbahs. Sometimes they were built high on a hill with wonderful views; sometimes they were built on the valley floor gardens with a river close by. The disadvantage of building on the valley floor is obvious; in times of feuding the nearby river could be redirected to undermine the foundations and bring down the walls. But there was no feuding on this sunny day - just roses that perfumed the air and poppies waiting to be weeded and carried home as fodder for livestock.
