These children were at a road-side stall selling hand-made pottery that was fired in the kiln behind them. The brown-glazed tagines have a conical top and sell for approx. 30 dirhams (£2). Cooking in a tagine over hot coals is a traditional way of preparing meat and vegetables and, when ready, the tagine dish is moved from the coals to the (usually low) table around which the family sit and eat with their hands.
