Gathering Firewood, Merzouga<br> Africa picture - I came across these women one evening when I was walking through the Erg Chebbi sand dunes and we struck a deal - I could take photographs in exchange for face cream. The return walk to Nomad Palace (where the cream was) was a slow one because the heavily laden donkeys repeated sank into the sand and collapsed; each time their load was removed and replaced.
