Weekend visit to Chatsworth House in the lovely Derbyshire countryshire. A half hour bus ride from our home in Sheffield. Set in the rolling green hills of Derbyshire, Chatsworth was the original inspiration for Jane Austin's Pemberley Hall in Pride and Prejudice. Chatsworth is also seen in the latest movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley. Chatsworth's most famous guest was Mary Queen of Scots, who was imprisoned here from 1570 to 1581, before losing her head literally.
