The remains of the 800yr old chestnut tree under which the Duke of Monmouth was entertained by the Speakes family in 1680 during his tour of the West. The tree was blown down in a hurricane in 1897 and lies on the ground next to a newly planted tree. In the distance can be seen the Manor House and the church.
