This photography project started off in March 2006 as a family history project, and then because of the accelerating rate of development found in some of the initial villages photographed, it was felt necessary to record other villages as they were, before further changes took place. Many features are fast disappearing, such as Post Offices, Primary Schools, Inns & Pubs, Garages, Petrol stations, Bakeries and local shops. Many old farms and farm buildings such as barns are rapidly being converted into luxury dwellings or group housing. Many vacant spaces, even green fields, are often quickly bought up and built over. The worst cases are where a village lies near a town or near a motorway access. More remote villages seem to be left alone, undesirable to some, but to others thankfully left unchanged.
