house where HCM lived the final 15 years of his life. Built for him in the compound of the Presidential Palace next to a carp pond, it is an elegantly crafted representation of a traditional stilted communal house typical of the mountain ethnic minorities. He moved from the electrician’s hut to this house and lived, worked and held meetings here with top leaders until he passed away in September 1969.
