"Museum of Vietnamese Revolution" (1926)
Sightseeing in Hanoi picture - close to the Opera House in Hoan Kiem district (old quarter). Built in 1926 to house the French tax office, this large museum opened its doors in 1959. It has 29 individual rooms that focus on specific events or periods in Vietnam's arduous road to independence, particularly their efforts against French colonialism, Japanese fascism, and American imperialism, plus the history of the Communist Party. History buffs will appreciate that most of the exhibits are photos (dating back to 1858) with English & French translations.
