Designed by a French architect, the building style is defined as "Neo-Vietnamese", a combination of Vietnamese palace and French villa. The golden color (often with dark green shutters) is common in French colonial buildings in Vietnam. The porte cochere (carriage porch) seems to be a more recent addition.
