Betong is a town with a population of approx. 50k nestling in a hilly site bordering the northern Malaysian state of Perak. It is a favorate weekend hangout for Malaysian & Singapore tourists coming for cheap food and other entertainment. But for most Malaysians, Betong is famous due to its past association with the guerilla of the Communist Party of Malaya who used it as a base to infiltrate into the Malaysia territory.
