During this trip to Belize we stayed on Ambergris Caye in the town of San Pedro. It's about a 20 minute plane ride from Belize City, in a tiny little plane. The ride is a bit scary at first but the views are spectacular. San Pedro is a small town with mostly unpaved roads. It's a great town, people are nice, and it's very relaxed. The beaches are lovely and there are several nice hotels/resorts. It's not too "resorty" though, certainly not overwhelmed with tourists, at least not in June. From here you can book ... (more)
