We had traveled to Mondsee from Toronto via Vienna. In Salzburg we were picked up by car and taken to the Erlachmühle (Erlach Mill) just outside of Mondsee. The Erlachmühle was a place I had found on the Internet. It had sounded like an interesting place. Not only was it some distance outside of Mondsee which, I knew, drew quite a number of tourists, but, it seems that this mill had been mentioned for the first time as being in operation in the year 1416.
