The island of Aitutaki is about 45 minutes flying time north of Rarotonga and a little closer to Equator. Population is around 2000.

The island is a rather unusual shape - sort of long with a hook over the top. It is surrounded by a large reef, providing protection for beautiful lagoons. Being a little further north of Rarotonga, Aitutaki is about 2 degrees warmer.
