Santiago can't claim to be the most scenic capital city in South America, but it is pleasant and friendly with a lively nightlife and a real zest for living. The Lakes District in the middle of country is simply stunning with its beautiful natural scenery and its German heritage towns. Unfortunately for us it wasn't the season to travel further south into Patagonia. Another trip I think...
