After a quick breakfast the next morning, we packed, loaded, and continued north through the desert. This part of the coast seemed to me to be more brushy and less bleak than the area south of Trujillo. After traveling for an hour and a half on the smooth blacktop of the Pan-American Highway, we briefly stopped in a village named San Jose de Moro to visit an archeological site.
