Here is New Orleans' only authentic steam-powered paddleboat which is currently operating, offering a tour of New Orleans from the Mighty Mississipi River. It also has a mini-museum and open-to-public engine room. It steamed past old historic homes and factories, and the burnt-out, flooded-out shell of the 9th Ward. (If only my camera had survived, I'd have some photos of this too.)
