This house is abandoned, rocking chair still on the front porch. What you can read from the markings made door-to-door tell you if entry was made, if dead were found (humans and also pets), and the date of the search. You can see that the original markings were made very high up, over the door, and if you have a high resolution screen and look at the picture full-size, you'll see a water mark across the house about 7 feet high, at the top of the door. There's a marking indicating it was checked 9/11, with too much water to enter by door - so this was marked by a search and rescue team in a boat. There's another marking at ground level from a second search after the waters subsided. The "O" on both markings, fortunately, indicates zero fatalities found. There were over 600 deaths in New Orleans alone from Katrina and the flooding of the city, in combination and separately.
