Last year my wife and I hiked the first seven days of the Wonderland Trail, which circles Mt. Rainier in about 95 miles, from Longmire to Sunrise. When a chance to hike the rest of the trail this year came about I jumped at the chance to complete this wonderful trail. I was able to join two friends at Sunrise, who thru-hiked the whole trail, and continue with them to Longmire. The east side of Rainier was just as beautiful as others described. Nights were spent at Sunrise, Summerland, Indian Bar, and Nickle Creek. This trip followed a trip I did in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, see the article below, as well as the article on the first part of the trail last year. Enjoy the rest of the Wonderland, a trail that truely deserves its name.
