Midland: Charles Bray took this picture of the sign where it says “Our Lady of Huronia.” The black rope had a special devotion to Mary Mother of the Lord. They called their main residence in Huronia-Ste-Marie after her. They also taught their Huron converts to love and imitate her gentle ways and to place themselves under her protection.
