This was my first visit to Puerto Vallarta, and I am certainly glad that I chose this hotel. The service was impeccable; the staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help. The hotel and grounds were clean and well-kept. The pool area was gorgeous and totally relaxing. The beach in front of the hotel was a bit disappointing...very rocky and not too wide, but I was more than happy at the pool. I only had two lunches at La Pérgola and one dinner at Gaviotas; I never ordered room service. The hotel food was excellent at all meals, but a bit expensive. The drinks were very good too, but again, expensive. Honestly, I recommend eating downtown, which is only about a twenty minute walk away. The hotel's location couldn't be better...close to the Malecón and all the bars, restaurants, night clubs and shopping that downtown has to offer. The hotel has been extensively remodelled after Hurricane Kenna severely damaged it in October 2002.
