Maybe not known by many travellers, I had the chance to visit Petra on April 2006.

Entering the city through the narrow passage (which was the main reason for the city to remain hidden for more than 800 years) was so breathtaking. It's just amazing to walk through the passage and after 1Km of walking, the city shows itself:
