Slovenia is a small country of only 2 million people and, as I was fond of saying at the time, the only country I know where you can visit every part of the country as a day trip from the capital. But what Slovenia lakes in size it more than makes up for in beauty. We only spent two days transiting across the country so we only saw a fraction of its stunning beauty. The landscape is beautiful and green, dotted with picturesque villages with white painted churches. The capital, Ljubljana, is like a little Vienna, or Prague, or Zagreb. Ljubljana is also a university town, it has a funky, youthful feel and great nightlife. In the afternoon the riverside cafes are crowded with people, drinking, easting, listening to music and generally having a nice time. English is very widely spoken and the people are very friendly. Of all the cities in the world I've visited I like feel most at home in Ljubljana.
