On a recent trip to New Zealand we visited Bushy Park, a nature preserve near the North Island town of Wanganui. This preserve is open to day visitors and also offers lodging and meals. The main house dates to the early 1900's and was built as the opulent home of a wealthy bachelor. The surrounding grounds of about 250 acres exist in its original primeval state, having never been cleared or logged.
