<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> The locks on the Rideau<br> Sightseeing in Ottawa picture - The locks operate today much as they did 160 years ago. The large wooden lock doors are opened and closed using hand cranks, &#38; hand cranks are also used to let water in and out of the locks. The locks cater to tourists and even the novice boater will have no trouble locking through with Parks Canada staff there to assist. The locks operate from mid-May to mid-October, generally during daylight hours. Want to know how locks work?? http://www.rideau-info.com/canal/lock.html </div></nolayer></noembed>
