On the left side one can find Kharsali village just across the river and a nice bridge connecting it with Jankichatti. Kharsali village is the place where Yamunotri temple priest lives and Yamunotri Deity is moved into during the winter. There is a very old temple over there and the village worth a visit if you are staying in Jankichatti, otherwise probably you can just skip it.
