This 6.6 earthquake hit early in our very first morning on Kauai. It lasted only 15 seconds or so, but shook quite hard, considering the epicenter was over on the Big Island, more than 300 miles to the east. This was certainly not expected, and I think would qualify as the first miss of our trip.
