After Christchurch we headed for Fox and Franz Josef glaciers by the Tranz alpine train. The weather at Franz Josef was pretty crappy, it kept on raining all the time allowing only for short bush walks. At Fox however we were lucky, as the afternoon was sunny and allowed for a half day ice walk.
