. . . it was possible on entering a tunnel, that one might actually emerge at the other end and have actually managed to have taken some interesting photos. But, as it turned out, there actually were some "windows" through which one might see interesting details. Here, even though we were well into May, we found a substantial pile of snow, which the sun, this being in the perpetual shade of the mountain, had been unable to thaw.
