Saas Fee lies in the next-door valley to Zermatt, at the foot of the Dom, Switzerland/s highest mountain. It is a modern resort free of car traffic.

The village is perched on a shelf at the base of a horseshoe of thirteen 4000m-plus peaks. It is nicknamed *Pearl of the Alps*.
