The Fritillary butterflys are often confused with the Monarch. The caterpillar food plant for the Gulf Fritillary is Passiflora or Passion-vine. If you have this plant in your yard I'm sure you've had the orange and black caterpillars on your Passiflora leaves as well as the adults nectaring at your plants.
